This location marked Crumbl’s second store in greater Tucson, following the brand’s successful debut in Oro Valley, another site evaluated and leased by John Buette of Boss Capital Development. Crumbl asked Boss Capital to carefully evaluate the Tucson MSA retail trade areas for future expansion opportunities, and after in-depth analysis, Buette recommended the Houghton Town Center (HTC) as the perfect choice.
Several factors uncovered by Buette made HTC stand out: its strategic proximity to Interstate 10, its location in the heart of the expanding Vail School District, and the rapid residential and commercial growth of southeast Tucson. These elements, combined with strong demographics and community demand, positioned HTC as the ideal follow-up to Crumbl’s first Tucson success.
The opening generated immediate excitement across the community. The Vail Voice shared news of the launch on April 11 via its Facebook page, highlighting how much residents looked forward to welcoming Crumbl. Later, KGUN 9 News included coverage of the Vail store as part of its reporting on Crumbl’s third Tucson location at The Landing, another Boss Capital Development secured site.
