With over 30 years in commercial real estate, John Buette has built a career around navigating complex land negotiations and development projects.
His expertise spans negotiating, acquisition, easements, permitting, right-of-way, leasing, sales, and title work — all grounded in a B.S. in Business Administration, Minerals Land Management from the University of Colorado.
John’s early career included extensive experience as a Mineral Landman with Fortune 500 gold mining leader Newmont Mining/Battle Mountain Gold, where he learned to craft innovative solutions for high-stakes land transactions in both domestic and international markets.
How it began
From the gold mines of Nevada to the fast-growing markets of Arizona, John has managed everything from mineral rights acquisitions to multi-million-dollar real estate developments. Over the years, he’s built a reputation for precision, creativity, and delivering results, whether that means securing corporate mineral rights worth over $100 million or bringing new retail, residential, and mixed-use projects to life.
Today, John leads Boss Capital Development, LLC as Principal and Designated Broker, overseeing all sales, leasing, and development for the company. His work has helped shape communities and create opportunities for both investors and residents.

- Site selection and lease acquisition for four Crumbl Cookie locations in Tucson.
- Led transactions for major retail, residential, and mixed-use developments valued in the tens of millions.
- Brokered one out of every ten Tucson apartment closings (<100 units) in 2004.
- Served two terms on the Development Review Board and two terms as Vice Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission for Oro Valley, Arizona.
